A couple days ago, I sat down with my CFA Society Chicago colleagues Tony Zhang and Jessica Noviskis to cover the events of the week.
Hope you enjoy the discussion
Trade updates:
As of this writing, we are at peak profitability in the Nasdaq end of month 1 by 2 put spread. This should be closed when you read this. The SOFR strangle is also at peak profitability but has some time left to it. I believe the market still needs to price rate hikes out of September, so you may want to add some delta to the strangle position as right now it is delta neutral. Finally, the Russell ratio call spread has not worked out even though small caps have outperformed, the overall market weakness kept us from taking off. Time to close that position.
I will have some new ideas next week.
